Army Veteran Learns to Walk and Talk Again While Using CBD

August 10th, 2019

I recently had the honor of speaking with Blake Cook about his experience with the military and how he is crushing his goals while using CBD. Blake is 30 years old and was born and raised in West Virginia. He joined the military in 2010 to join the Army to be in the infantry and was sent to Fort Bragg NC. “I wanted to serve my country because of watching 9/11. I enjoyed the Army and the strong bond between a group of guys that became family.” Blake said. “In 2012 I was blown up by an IED and spent the next 25 months learning to walk and talk again. For years I lived in pain because I refused... Read More

James Andre’

August 10th, 2019

From growing up in small town, South Carolina, all the way to the big city lights of Mile High, artist James Andre’ indulged in his original style in oil and acrylic paintings. Mr. Andre’ often explores his lucid state of dreaming to conceptualize or ‘see’ his artwork before he even touches the canvas. Lucid dreaming is the act of being aware of your dream state, and in turn, creating a world with limitless opportunities. This is where James Andre’ goes to paint. It is this method of conceptualization that sets him apart from other artists. Mr. Andre’s unique... Read More

Lost Lake Weekend Lineup

August 10th, 2019

Lost Lake Lounge is one of Denver’s most beloved local bars. For nearly a decade it’s been a prime spot to see up and coming bands from all styles and genres. The lake house decorum works surprisingly well for the Colfax dive. Its small stage and limited floor space create an intimate setting, and every show is a close encounter. Friday, August 16th, Lost Lake welcomes Tommy Freed and the Sound. Their music is smooth, melodic, and soulful. Their debut album, Come on Shining, has roots in the blues, but branches out to include some indie and pop influences. Singer/songwriter Tommy Freed... Read More

Broncos vs Raiders: It Could Be All We Need to See

August 9th, 2019

After a 6-10 season, the Denver Broncos and John Elway knew they had to make some changes.  The team said goodbye to Case Keenum, the coaching staff, Bradley Roby, Matt Paradis, and others.  In came an entire new coaching staff, a high-priced secondary, and a Super Bowl winning quarterback in Joe Flacco.  The question is whether all the movement will lead to victories, or do the Broncos revert to the same team (with another new quarterback) that has gone 20-28 since winning the Super Bowl back in 2015?    Generally, one game does not a season make.  But in this case, with an opening-season... Read More

August 8th, 2019

You will learn how Boulder’s iconic Flatirons formed. Turns out, Boulder was once beachfront property. This sandstone, more appropriately called “arkose” gets its color from the pinkish feldspar contained it it. This red rock makes up the Red Rocks of Morrison and the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. The Fountain Formation stretches from Colorado Springs all the way to Wyoming. The reddish color is due to the concentration of feldspar in the sandstone,... Read More

Here are some tips to make your back to school strategy operate smoothly. Get back on your school year sleep schedule. Pediatricians recommend that children age 6 to 12 get 9 to 12 hours of sleep a night, and that teens get 8 to 10 hours a night. Longhorn Gets Loose!

August 6th, 2019

A longhorn steer got loose on Friday during the Ride for the Brand Cattle Drive. The steer managed to escape while being transported and nervously ran into the downtown street. The street was crowded with people, none of whom got hurt, as the steer raced towards a building. Spectators were mix of terrified and screaming and attempting to help the handler, who followed the animal on horseback to attempt to lasso it. The video below shows a close-up of the scene.  Read More
