The Rolling Stones: 2019 No Filter tour is coming to Denver Saturday, August 10th at Broncos Stadium. Tickets start at $125 and go up to nearly $2,000 if you want to get up close and personal with the band. The band was originally scheduled to play in May, but had to postpone due to medical issues from Mick Jagger. Every year, thousands of tarantulas migrate to Colorado in search of mates, generally showing up in La Junta and southeast Colorado towards the end of August. The male spiders are searching for female mates that burrow in the Colorado prairies. You will learn how Boulder’s iconic Flatirons formed. Turns out, Boulder was once beachfront property. The Flatirons are Boulder’s favorite portion of the Fountain Formation, a geological formation of mostly red sandstone. This sandstone, more appropriately called “arkose” gets its color from the pinkish feldspar contained it it. This red rock makes up the Red Rocks of Morrison and the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. A longhorn steer got loose on Friday during the Ride for the Brand Cattle Drive. The steer managed to escape while being transported and nervously ran into the downtown street. The street was crowded with people, none of whom got hurt, as the steer raced towards a building. Spectators were mix of terrified and screaming and attempting to help the handler, who followed the animal on horseback to attempt to lasso it.
