Butcher’s Bistro offers a heavily meat based menu, at times incorporating multiple meat sources or preparations on a single plate at one time. These are “The Meat Guys” of Denver, and even have ventured into constructing meat based desserts! Almost everything they serve here is made in-house, from pickles and kraut, to aioli, mustards, sauces, and charcuterie…it’s all handmade!
Inside the Kimpton Hotel Born chef Christian Graves heads up a modernized steakhouse with aged beef right on display. Happy hour from 2:30 to 6 p.m., try the wood-grilled oysters or charcuterie board with truffled chicken-liver mousse, Fra’Mani salami, aged ham, house pickles, mustard and bread. Drink specials include $7 pairings like glass of rosé with a shot of mezcal or a stout with a side of bourbon! Dinner is just as heavenly and I like sitting at the chef’s table/bar where you can watch all of the action as your meal is cooked over an open fire grill.
If there is one hip hangout in Denver it is Work & Class’s HAPPIEST HOUR from 4-5 PM, Tuesday-Friday, which include killer house made green chile cheese fries and a blow your mind chile relleno…you just have to try it! Drinks include mix and match your own liquor choice and house made mixer, my favorite is the Spicy Basil Sour with Tequilla, and barrel aged cocktails like the old fashioned and extra Long Island. There is a cool indoor/outdoor patio space so you can watch everything going on in RINO no matter what the weather. The regular menu is heavy on sharable smoked & barbequed meat portions including lamb and goat, but the pork is really delicious and served with homemade tortillas. Service is friendly and attentive with good suggestions. Expect a wait, but it’s so worth it!
This seafood restaurant offers amazing top notch oysters at $2 from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday through Friday. They serve all kinds of amazing exotic flavored Granita cocktails, which is a slush-type drink, semi-frozen kind of like Italian ice with booze! The patio overlooks an active summertime fountain that is a delight to take in as you sip and dine! Try the burger at lunch!
Happy Hour 3-6pm select $6 Margaritas…the Spicy Rico is my favorite even if it is not $6…it comes in a tall glass with a jalapeno and a tasty chili rim. All of the tacos great…you can’t go wrong! The salsa and chips are 4 very different salsas, all four very spicy, all four very tasty.
The newest Food Hall concept on the Denver scene is Milk Market, a 16-venue mix of take-away and dine-in restaurants and bars in the historic Dairy Block of the Ballpark Neighborhood.
