LOST & FOUND: Bites with Blondie

June 1st, 2019

It’s been a little quiet around here lately. For that, I’m sorry. I decided to take a little digital detox for the months of April and May, which proved to be easier said than done. Yes, I did document some of my food adventures on Instagram (@biteswithblondie), but decided to treat myself to a little break and hit snooze to recharge my batteries. To say it was needed is an understatement. This hobby of mine has quickly become more than that—it’s become a full-time job and something I take great pride in. I take pride in trying unique spots in Denver that some have yet to explore. I take... Read More

Winter Warms Up At Mile High Beer Fest

March 12th, 2019

The Mile-High City is home to a wide variety of festivals, ranging from The Westword Music Showcase to the International Lidar Mapping Forum (ILMF for those in the aerial survey world) and everything in between. So naturally, there are a ton of beer-centric festivals that make their way to or call our wonderful city home. This past weekend, even the single-digit temperatures couldn’t stop the band from playing or the beer from flowing at Mile High Beer Fest. So, camera in hand and winter coat donned, I made my way to Number 38 in RiNo to check out just what Mile-High Beer Fest was all about! So... Read More

Neighborhood Spotlight: South Broadway

January 25th, 2019

My last brewventure of 2018 took me down to South Broadway with two of my beer-loving favorites! Having spent little time in this eclectic and hip neighborhood, I was excited to dive right in and check out as many breweries and as much of the beer we could. Stop #1: Alternation Brewing Company (www.alternationbrewing.com). After trying their famed For the Animals—Oreo (milk stout) at the Great American Beer Festival, I knew this was a brewery I had to make my way to. The taproom is strung with lights and has plenty of cozy natural wood. The bartender offered up friendly conversation as we browsed... Read More

Denver Brewery Spotlight: Grab A Cask Ale At Hogshead Brewery

December 8th, 2018
Hogshead Brewery

Having heard the buzz about how fantastic Hogshead Brewery was; I knew I had to check it out for myself. So after grabbing brunch nearby Sloan’s Lake – a friend and I made our way to Hogshead Brewery for a couple brews and some girl talk. Wow! The space is small, but awesome! There’s a longer community table and a couple low tops made with rustic wood. There are even a couple Laws Whiskey House barrels turned high top! I’m not sure, but something might be aging in them too. It’s so cozy and inviting. They really made the most of the space! They have a huge patio space both... Read More

workout class in a brewery

As I sit here looking at the aftermath of yet another successful Thanksgiving – a sink full of dishes, stretchy pants donned, and a can of cold cider in hand. I reflect on the next few weeks and wonder silently to myself, “How will I possibly work off my holiday indulgences and still enjoy my favorite beers?!” After I briefly panic at the thought of cutting my favorite brews out of my routine; a thought crosses my mind, “Why not incorporate my favorite breweries and beers into my workout routine?!” Genius. Ursula Brewery

Tucked in an unsuspecting little suburb outside of Denver, sits a stellar brewery with a fabulous reputation, that’s only matched by its ability to roll with the punches. More about that later. Woods Boss Brewing Company

Woods Boss Brewing Company is def serving up something fantastic – and I’m totally digging it! Why?! Well since you asked – let’s talk about it! The Space/Atmosphere: The space is large! It features various couches and community style seating made of halved tree trunks. There’s lots of raw wood and exposed brick throughout. Two large roll-up doors let all that excellent warm weather in and lead to two smaller sidewalk style patios with picnic tables.
