Why I Choose Hemp

August 25th, 2017

As a Cannabis Athlete and someone who believes health is wealth, I’m consistently looking at my nutritional intake and hemp seeds are one of the most nutritious seeds in the world. My friend and professional MMA fighter, Adam Meredith, also consumes hemp as one of his primary protein sources. They are a complete protein and contain all of the essential amino acids our bodies need to survive, including the 10 we must get from our diet. They are also packed full of vitamins, enzymes, and have a perfect ratio of essential fats omega 3 and 6. Hemp seeds are easily digestible and have no known allergens.... Read More

Denver Beer Company Takes Over Olde Town Arvada

August 25th, 2017

Denver Beer Company is a staple, and their original Platte Street location was one I frequented often when I still lived downtown. Right by Commons park, with beautiful views of the city and Platte River, I enjoyed quite a few beers on their giant, open patio, sneaking off to Monkey Barrel between beers to take cheap shots of whiskey, and scarfing down a few slices of Basic Kneads pizza before the day was over.   My downtown days have since passed, and so has that beautiful view with the high-rise condo construction—the ever-changing addition to our skyline that seems to enclose all my favorite... Read More

In response to higher blood sugar levels, the pancreas releases extra insulin, which has the effect of lowering blood sugar rather quickly, causing a craving for foods rich in carbohydrates. Cortisol is considered a catabolic hormone, which... Read More

Faces of Denver – Jae Pop!

August 22nd, 2017

One of the great things about roaming around the urban epicenter of Denver, is the diversity of ethnicities of people you encounter on a daily basis. Jae Pop is a prime example of these multicultural interactions that can be experienced. When walking up to the family owned Thai food street cart, Liang’s Thai Food (located on the busy corner of 16th and Tremont), I was greeted by an upbeat, ultra-friendly guy, named Jae Pop. He treated me like we had been best friends for years, and for a second, I was almost convinced that we had been best friends for years. But that is the type of thing... Read More
