Mountain Tap Brewery

When you find yourself in Steamboat Springs for a weekend mountain staycation with friends; you naturally scout out the area’s breweries. Maybe that’s just me – but it’s most definitely how this past weekend played out! After waiting out the inclement weather and making the journey I found myself craving a cold brew. So scattered throughout visits to Old Town Hot Springs, hilarious games of Cards Against Humanity, and the occasional bear sighting – we made our way to a few of the local watering holes.   Mountain Tap Brewery (www.mountaintapbrewery.com): The first stop we made... Read More

Denver Brewery Spotlight: A Cabin in the City – Woods Boss Brewing Company

October 12th, 2018
Woods Boss Brewing Company

Woods Boss Brewing Company is def serving up something fantastic – and I’m totally digging it! Why?! Well since you asked – let’s talk about it! The Space/Atmosphere: The space is large! It features various couches and community style seating made of halved tree trunks. There’s lots of raw wood and exposed brick throughout. Two large roll-up doors let all that excellent warm weather in and lead to two smaller sidewalk style patios with picnic tables. The whole space, even with its large size, gives off a great “mountain cabin meets the big city” feel. The tap list... Read More

In Aurora off the corner of Kentucky and Buckley tucked back behind the 7-Eleven lies an amazing hidden gem – Launch Pad Brewery. Open seven days a week this “rocket-themed microbrewery and taproom” (as Google states) is decked out in all sorts of aeronautics gear including several scale models of satellites and rockets. Their small taproom boasts a decent amount of seating and is indeed dog and child friendly. The staff here is exceptional! Having frequented Launch Pad Brewery over the past few years (primarily due to its close proximity to Community College of Aurora); I was hooked. All... Read More

After checking out the Brighton Chile Festival this past scorching hot weekend, a cold beer was more than necessary. There’s definitely something special going on at Something Brewery in Brighton. Some Brief History and Atmosphere: The story behind the name can be found in their attempt to foster an inquisitive atmosphere for beer enthusiasts. This is a mix of music, art, craft beers, delicious food, and of course bikes, to create a smorgasbord of good times. September 15th, 2017

Autumn is very, very slowly beginning to creep into the far corners of our still very hot September days here in Denver and I don’t think I have been more ready for it than I am this year. Although I think I say that every year. Last week I compiled a short list of must-go events in September, leading up to our very own... Read More

Hops for Humanity at Call To Arms Brewing Co.

June 9th, 2017

In step with Denver’s give-back personality, our breweries do not fall short in carrying a tradition to contribute. Call To Arms brewing is no exception to this rule, and this month, they are doing their part in their event: Hops for Humanity. Over the month of June, Call To Arms is tapping 17 special brews—all, as you guessed it, featuring all things hoppy. Habitat for Humanity receives a portion of the entire month’s proceeds, and we all get some specially crafted beer: everyone wins. I love Call To Arms because although it is a big space that is often crowded, it feels as if you are walking... Read More
