3 Christmas Light Displays to Get You in The Mood

December 6th, 2019

One of my favorite things to do around Christmas is to see all the different light displays! I’m too lazy to ever put lights up myself, but boy is it magical to see a bunch of Christmas lights brighten up a street or scene that looks quite normal in the daylight. These are some cool Christmas light attractions that are sure to dazzle you!   Mile High Tree This is a new attraction to Denver this year: a massive electronic tree on the side of Speer Boulevard! It’s a nice take on a big tree attraction for Denver, resembling something like a sister to the Rockefeller Christmas Tree in... Read More

The Thanksgiving Play

November 19th, 2019

I went to see The Thanksgiving Play at the Curious Theatre this past week and I’m having a hard time writing about it. Not because it wasn’t well-produced (it was) or beautifully played (it was indeed), but because I walked out of the venue feeling like yet another clueless white person who should probably just shut up for a while. That’s a weird thing to write and it makes the play seems like kind of a downer, which it both totally is and completely isn’t. It was simultaneously both one of the most uncomfortable and one of the funniest things I’ve seen in 2019. The premise is this: the... Read More

Carnivale de Sensuale – Local Denver Quartely Burlesque Show: Oct 19th & 20th

Carnivale de Sensuale

I wish online dating apps had filters that were really useful. If I could type in “artist, athlete, ginger beard, and total weirdo” and get search results, I’d be a happy OKCupid camper. Unfortunately, “weirdo” isn’t yet a viable search term. (If it is, someone please let me know!) I have specific reasons for wanting each of the above items and I think that “artist” might be the most compelling. Artists interest me because the nature of their work and themselves constantly demands growth and change, reincarnation to support the new life continually developing out of the old one.... Read More

710 Dabbing Dab

July 11th, 2017

The following quote is to be read in your best stoner voice. “Duuuuude, I have an idea for the newest holiday in the cannabis world bro. OK, so let me tell you how we are gonna do it. OK, since we love taking oil dabs we will take that word “OIL” and read it backwards for some reason. Wait, wait, wait that is not right. Ok I got it. When it is turned upside down and backwards it looks like it now says the numbers “710” right? Just follow along it will make sense, you are going to love this next part bro. 710 will refer to 7/10, or July the tenth. Now on July tenth every year we are going... Read More

This Saturday: New Colorado Holiday to Celebrate Value of Public Lands!

May 16th, 2017

There is a great respect and appreciation for the public land here in Colorado, and the majority of Colorado voters in 2016 “opposed efforts to turn national public lands over to the state.” (Conservation Colorado 2016). With this sentiment in mind, Colorado made itself the first state to create a holiday focused on appreciating the benefits received from public land. Be one of the first to celebrate this holiday on this coming Saturday, the 20th of May, as it will be the one of the first celebrations ever of Colorado’s New Public Lands Day! Colorado’s public land holds great value and... Read More
