What’s NEXT? An Art Gallery

October 18th, 2017

Next Gallery has a good variety of artists. There is photography and graphic arts, interesting mixed media, embroidery, 3-d art and more. The main artists that have exhibits up there currently are Chris Buske with “Crossing Borders,” and Jordan Lyn with “The End.” Of course there are works by other artists scattered around the gallery such as some of the mixed media work of Adrienne DeLoe, whose pieces incorporating natural elements into her art never fail to amaze me! The bulk of the pieces were smaller pieces from Buske consisting of photos, sketches, and graphics which... Read More

Lakewood Arts: Up and Coming in 40 West

October 10th, 2017

Lakewood Arts had a very good show for the 40 West First Friday this past Friday. There was everything from classy mosaics to watercolors and acrylics to delightful textile designs. They had a folksy live band playing in the back and several gallery attendants to attend to our needs, one of them even came up and introduced herself and had a nice chat. I found the artwork impressive and alluring. The gallery did NOT seem snobbish or stuck up but was rather open and friendly, very welcoming to all who came in, which is just the way I like it! This was one of those great galleries where it seems like... Read More

I’ll Tell You About Teller Street Gallery

October 5th, 2017

Teller Street Art Gallery and Studios is on 38th Street in Wheat Ridge, CO, west of Denver. It’s a hidden gem! The place is down-to-earth and fun but also has some very talented and innovative art in the gallery. The great thing about Teller is that it is a very functional space. Gallery owner and artist Nicole Anderson and fellow artist Kaylie instruct art classes to the public for a reasonable price-they are what are known as the paint-and-sip art classes generally lasting no more than 3 hours, at the end of which the participant has a finished painting to take home with her at the end... Read More

Grace Gallery Will Take Your Breath Away

September 18th, 2017

Grace Gallery is three floors of unique and interesting art! Located in the Santa Fe art district near downtown Denver, Grace Gallery has three floors of amazing art ranging from wood carvings and abstracts to nudes and portraits. There is art and jewelry made from bicycle parts, stunning photography that draws you in and won’t let you go until you’ve surely gotten your fill and even then you find it hard to walk away. The main floor is definitely my favorite but that’s not to say the upper and lower floors are lacking, in fact it’s astounding the amount of amazing art that... Read More

Access Gallery: Art for the Heart

September 8th, 2017

You will find many choices when you want to visit an art gallery in Denver, in fact you may be overwhelmed not only with the variety of art galleries but the art districts! My first stop was the Access Gallery in the Santa Fe Arts District just south of downtown. I think Access Gallery stands out to me because it’s doing something very worthwhile with the art program for people that are often overlooked or even shunned. Access Gallery is unique, it is a nonprofit that has been in operation since the mid-seventies, all the work is done by adults with disabilities who are given an opportunity... Read More
