Artist Spotlight – James Bohling

September 27th, 2017

Living in Colorado, we have grown accustomed to the beautiful scenery we see every day. Something like a drive through the mountains or the colors in the sky above seem to go unnoticed. For James Bohling, his art captures not just the beauty of Colorado and the Midwest, but paints a literal picture that help the viewer experience and remember scenes we often take for granted. Bohling grew up around the countryside of Nebraska and Colorado where life was simple, quiet, and self-sufficient. He first started getting into painting when he was in college, taking different art courses... Read More

The Cannabis Industry is Bringing Change, Feel Free to Leave It

September 26th, 2017

I do not want to get off on a rant here but why would you not tip someone who just helped you out, especially if you are someone who knows nothing about cannabis? There may be some confusion on the issue of tipping your budtender so I am going to clear things up. I understand that most folks who come into a weed shop are spending a good deal of money and I am not asking you to drop twenty percent of your bill, it is not like we are your bartender or anything. When someone is spending a good deal of money already it is hard to want to throw down a little extra for the person who just helped you.... Read More

Trevor Siemian – Time for Some Respect

September 26th, 2017

You would think that Trevor Siemian could finally exhale. After starting out the season at 2-1, including a four-touchdown game against the Dallas Cowboys two weeks ago, Siemian should be embracing each day like most NFL starting quarterbacks. The endorsements should be piling in, the driver should be waxing the Bentley, and dinner at every five-star restaurant should have an open table. But even after a 2016 season that included 14 starts, 18 TDs, and 3400 yards passing, Siemian’s name is more-often-than -not misspelled, and misplaced by most maitre d’s. Here are eight reasons why Denver’s... Read More

Manners Maketh Man

September 24th, 2017

Hollywood is built on sequels. For decades, studios have ruthlessly focused on IP’s and searched for profitable films that can be milked for additional installments. For decades, critics have gnashed their teeth and bemoaned the lack of originality in filmmaking. For decades, audiences have complained about Hollywood never doing anything new and then subsequently flocked to the theaters to catch the latest Star Wars installment.* All of that must mean that sequels are bad, right? Well…not necessarily. They can be bad. Jaws 2 and onward are godawful. Speed 2: Cruise Control is... Read More

Ellementa: Women and Wellness

September 23rd, 2017

Women and Wellness go hand in hand. Women are traditionally more attune with their overall health and wellness needs for themselves, as well as their loved ones. I recently had the pleasure of attending my first Ellementa monthly meeting in Denver, this past August. Ellementa is a women-owned national startup building network, and resource for women interested in learning about cannabis wellness. They meet monthly in their locations to discuss health, wellness, and cannabis, with the goal of reaching and educating women. The group aims to release the stigma surrounding the plant, and hopes to empower... Read More

Happy Fall from Steamboat!

September 22nd, 2017

I drove up to Steamboat on Thursday for a bachelorette party. And let me tell you…the drive was gorgeous! The leaves are changing colors, the wildlife is romping in the meadows, and the temperatures are great for outdoor activities. Below you will find five reasons you should visit steamboat before the first snowfall and one reason you should visit once the snow comes. Fall is in full swing- Awe yes. It is that time of year when temperatures start cooling off, which causes the leaves to change colors. Just looking out my window, I see gold everywhere. It is breath taking. The air is cool and... Read More
