The Underground Music Showcase has announced its 2019 lineup! This gargantuan festival takes over South Broadway with hundreds of bands, dozens of venues, and three days of madness. Next weekend is the Underground Music Showcase. The streets of South Broadway will be flooded with people and bands. The Baker neighborhood will be bursting at the seams with house parties to accommodate the overflow. We covered this a few weeks back. I know we all breathed a collective sigh of relief when the Underground Music Showcase announced business will continue as usual this year. The 18th annual festival floods the streets of South Broadway July 27th-29th. This musical monstrosity is always one for the record books, and this year will be no different. The UMS started in 2001 as a way to give Denver underground bands some well deserved attention. The beginning was humble; four bands, five-dollar tickets, and a packed Bluebird Theater. It is one of my favorite weekends of the year here in Denver: The Underground Music Showcase takes over South Broadway from Thursday to Sunday night. Offering incredible local bands and city-wide favorites, the Baker neighborhood transforms into a bustling music scene in several bars, restaurants and venues.
