Core New Art Space

April 7th, 2018

One of my favorite ways to spend a lazy afternoon is strolling through the art district on Sante Fe. The streets are lined with small studios and galleries. I love to pop in and see what’s new. Usually you can find a few artists hanging around that are happy to talk about their work. I always make sure I stop by CORE New Art Space. Located at 900 Sante Fe street, it features new artists every few weeks. For over 25 years they’ve been providing space for artists to showcase their talent in a non-commercial setting. Their current exhibits, running through April 15th, include artists Lisa Purdy,... Read More

An Interview with Artist Lauren E. Anthony

March 31st, 2018

I’ve always loved looking at paintings and wondering what was going on in the artist’s mind. What kind of message they wanted to convey. Sometimes it’s simple. A park, some trees, lovely day. But when you get into abstract art, it gets a little trickier. It’s definitely an acquired taste. I personally enjoy the room for interpretation. His interest in photography began when he was just 5 years old when his grandmother gave him her camera to experiment with at the zoo, “I just took random pictures of things. You would have never thought I was actually at the zoo, that was probably the... Read More

Artist Spotlight – Pamela Fowler Lordi

August 28th, 2017

Pamela Fowler Lordi is a local Denver artist that specializes in creating abstract paintings. Many of her works display expressive emotion and guide the eye across the canvas using contrasting colors. Her paintings include a seemingly endless amount of detail that the viewer will never take their eyes off of. The creative process Lordi uses involves a predominantly improvised method of having a blank canvas, acrylic paints, and the raw expression and emotion to create something out of nothing. Whether it is through her personal life, current events, or blasting The Rolling Stones in her studio,... Read More
