Pikes Peak Food and Wine Expo, Prime 25Let’s paint a picture; when we sit and think about the culinary industry it is almost natural to imagine a man with a thick British accent screaming at the cooks about everything they are doing wrong, tearing everyone down piece by piece. Is that what really happens though? In some cases, yes, but not in every single kitchen around the world, let alone just here in Colorado. Most of the Chefs I have met here in Colorado are, honestly, downright mellow; sure, it is natural to have a bad day here and there where you lash out at everyone and everything around you, but it’s not a constant occurrence. The target of my column is to give you, the reader’s, a “behind the scenes” look inside the local culinary industry; naturally this will cover the good, the bad, and the gritty.  The good can range from the people in the kitchens who spend every waking moment thinking about their careers, reviews of events taking place around the state, and of course, the restaurants themselves and what they have to offer the population of Colorado. The bad and the gritty will no doubt cover- well, anything that is deemed negative in nature. I welcome anyone who would like to contribute to contact me directly at the links down below:

Cailean has lived in Colorado his entire life, a 22 year old young man located in the heart of Colorado Springs. He has worked as a freelance writer for clients around the United States, and took the initiative to get first hand experience “behind the scenes” of the culinary industry here in Colorado; at the age of 5 he was reading college level books, and had already begun writing his own stories. In his free time he can be found exploring the state of Colorado, playing music with friends, or continuing to gather knowledge of the local culinary industry, it can be mentioned by his friends and family that he never really stops working- his mind always goes back to the same thing: stories. There are so many stories around Colorado that he wants to bring right to your fingertips.
