6 Tips for Buying a Home as a Vacation Rental in Colorado

January 6th, 2020

Buying a house you intend to rent out is very different than buying one you plan to live in. This is especially the case if you’re planning on making it a vacation rental. So, how do you know you are investing in a property people will want to spend their vacations in? Research Local Tourism  Look for areas that are popular hubs for vacation rentals and tourists due to their wealth of attractions and activities–perhaps a property near the Denver Zoo or a cabin home close to Flagstaff.... Read More

If you’re one of those bah-humbug people around this time of the year, I get it. Thanksgiving was just a few weeks ago, and it’s already time for another big family gathering. Now, you can look forward to respectfully nodding through your uncle’s life advice while strategically avoiding the eggnog sloshing out of his coffee cup since you only own three nice shirts. Just me? If you’re feeling a little Grinchy, I have the perfect remedy: an... Read More

Boulder #1 in Nation for Real Estate Stability

August 3rd, 2019

According to a recent study done by SmartAsset, Boulder has ranked #1 in the nation for real estate stability based on over 25 years of data. The study analyzed metro areas based on home growth and the likelihood that a home would decline by 5% or more over a 10-year span. Sonder—The Circus Foundry

July 16th, 2019

“Sonder, noun: (1) the sudden and profound realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own (2) a new production by the Circus Foundry” Sigmund Freud diagnosed all women as having penis envy. I would disagree with this, but I do confess to having a serious case of circus envy. I wish I were super good at the circus arts. I wish I could toss my body around on every aerial apparatus like a ragdoll. I wish I could juggle dozens of oddly-shaped objects with grace and alacrity. I’d love to bend myself like Gumby into pretzel formations. But I don’t. I just... Read More

The stigma about cannabis consumers being lazy is being shattered by science. Men’sHealth, Maxim, The Denver Channel, Medical Marijuana, Inc., MSN and The Denver Post are just a few of many discussing the recent research. The research surveyed 600 adult cannabis consumers from states where cannabis is legal for adult use. When asked if... Read More

Rising Appalachia – Local Boulder Folk Music Event

October 3rd, 2018

According to a Freudian worldview, your Ego is the bossypants part of your psyche who’s always super worried with appearances and logic and avoiding risks. The Id is the wild child who wants illogical, contradictory, glorious gratification of desires. Denver is where I live out my Ego, and Boulder is where my Id wants to rule. My Id loves Boulder like my Ego loves dominating the other parts of my psyche. I visited Boulder this weekend to attend a concert by Rising Appalachia and Lyla June, a duo of folk-singing sisters and a Native American singer-songwriter-poet. The duo’s most recent project... Read More
