Dream Tank’s Planet Protectors Camp: Turning Fear of the Future Into Action
Have you ever seen a child hesitate to talk about the future?
Maybe they’ve asked questions like: “What’s going to happen to the Earth?” or “Will animals still be around when I’m older?”
These quiet worries are more common than we think — especially in young kids who are starting to notice the world around them.
My name is Kalyahn Varanasi, and I’ve been working with Heidi Cuppari and Dream Tank to create something different — a space where kids ages 6–9 don’t feel overwhelmed by the future, and become inspired to help build it. I’ve teamed up with other young leaders who care deeply about our planet and our communities, and together, we’re building something full of imagination, courage, and solutions.
If you are a little unfamiliar with climate anxiety and how it might be affecting your kids and those around you, I invite you to read my previous article!
🌎 Introducing: Planet Protectors Camp
This isn’t just a camp — it’s a launchpad for kids to dream big and build confidence. Over three days, campers will work together to design their ideas to protect the planet, play creative games, and develop leadership skills. Whether their solutions are wild and futuristic or small and doable right now, every single idea helps them believe in themselves – and the future. Sign up and learn more here
On the final day, we’ll host a presentation for parents and community members. You’ll be amazed by what these kids come up with — and you might walk away with ideas of your own, and a whole lot of hope for the future. If you’d like to attend, please RSVP here (it’s free!).
📍 Location: Museum of Boulder
📅 Dates: May 28–30

Big thank you to the Museum of Boulder for supporting this camp with a partial sponsorship and helping us bring it to life.
If you’re interested in sponsoring a child to attend for free — or supporting in any way — we’re so grateful. [Click here to learn more about sponsorship opportunities]
Let’s help kids feel powerful in our ever changing world — and show them that their ideas matter.
