The Thanksgiving Play

November 19th, 2019

I went to see The Thanksgiving Play at the Curious Theatre this past week and I’m having a hard time writing about it. Not because it wasn’t well-produced (it was) or beautifully played (it was indeed), but because I walked out of the venue feeling like yet another clueless white person who should probably just shut up for a while. That’s a weird thing to write and it makes the play seems like kind of a downer, which it both totally is and completely isn’t. For some, hemp foods can be new to cook with, and there isn’t a lot of direction for how to add hemp to your Thanksgiving, until now! Hemp foods are gaining popularity, and becoming much easier to find in stores. Hempsgiving was recently held in Denver, where every item on the menu featured some sort of hemp. The event was such a success,... Read More

Drinking Consciously This Holiday Season

November 24th, 2017

I hope everyone has survived their Thanksgiving or Harvest holiday meals yesterday, or are pushing through if yours lasts through the weekend! For me, Thanksgiving marks the first day of the holiday season—a period of time at the end of the year for self-reflection, closure of the previous year, spending time with family, and giving a little extra back to the community at large. Taking the time to recognize one’s own little privileges and blessings in life and expressing gratitude can actually go beyond just donating money, toys and food, or volunteering time over the holidays with those in... Read More
