Personal Trainers Consume Cannabis

I am a sponsored trail runner and personal trainer and I incorporate cannabis in my daily training routine.  Specifically, I consume either flower, concentrates or edibles before hitting the gym, trails or yoga sessions.  I also apply topicals to achy joints, such as my knees and shoulders and consume hemp foods throughout the day. Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to be a speaker about Fitness and Cannabis on the panel at June’s Ellementa event. Ellementa is a Global Cannabis Wellness Network for women. In addition to our other 10 races we are running this year, my husband and I decided we wanted to build a team of 8 athletes to complete a Ragnar Trail relay. We had no idea it would be one of the best weekends ever! When I became the team captain, I was a little hesitant about coordinating a team. We needed an additional 6 runners to run a total of 14.4 miles each to total 114.4 miles and we wanted team members to be open to cannabis use and promotion. With 11 races scheduled this year, including an 8 person Ragnar Relay over 2 days, the MJFITNUT Team will be logging in some serious miles. Each one of those miles spent training and competing will be fueled by cannabis. Does this mean cannabis flower and concentrates, or edibles and topicals? All of the above. I train with my wife on a regular basis. We run trails together, hit the gym together, and we take recovery days together. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo- Animals, Giving Back, and Exercise

All that training I did paid off last weekend. I completed my race in Colorado Springs at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It was a great experience. The course went through the zoo and up the mountain to William Rogers Shrine. Over the first two miles we climbed 1000 feet and it was incredible and challenging; but worth it for the views. The course was on a nice road that usually does not allow foot traffic. This is the only race that the zoo allows foot traffic to the shrine.
