Is Your Body Made of Hemp?

October 27th, 2018
Body made up hemp

Did you know, every ten years your body has generated brand new bones? According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, “After the body’s skeleton forms and grows to its adult size, it completely regenerates itself about every 10 years, through a process called remodeling.” Ok, so that makes sense, but how can your body be made of hemp? The answer is proteins. I’ve mentioned in previous articles about the several nutritional benefits of hemp foods, and how I personally choose hemp protein as my go to protein supplement. Since proteins are what the human body is built from,... Read More

When it comes to cannabis products there is a lot to discuss. Options and availability are growing across the world and the number of canna-curious and new users are increasing rapidly. With so many different products it can be overwhelming to understand which product may be best for you. Cannabis for Your Pets

July 28th, 2018

Chances are you have a furry member of your family. All mammals have an ednocannabinoid system to help maintain balance within the body and optimize proper functions.  Your furry friend can provide perks to your overall health and wellness too. This is probably one of the reasons 68 percent of all households in 2017 within the United States own pets.  Playing with animals, especially puppies, has been shown to increase levels of serotonin and dopamine, which are the hormones that make you feel good. When the hormones are released, it helps reduce stress levels and can help improve memory and... Read More

This weekend, the cannabis community is wrapping up Hemp History Week. Running June 4-10, this is the 9th annual campaign which brings together “grassroots organizers, leading hemp product manufactures, farmers, and advocates from all walks of life who are working to change federal policy on industrial hemp in the US.” Hemp has so many uses that it’s not only healthy for you,... Read More

Even Spartans Use Cannabis

May 5th, 2018

This weekend I will be joining the MJFITNUT Team in taking on my first Spartan obstacle course! My training for this 3-5 mile race, with 15-20 obstacles, has included cannabis, and I will be consuming cannabis on race day. My teammates for this race are also cannabis users. Joining me is my husband Antonio, and Marie Peel, who is a co-owner of Denver’s 420 friendly transportation service, High End Transportation. Peel is an excellent example of a Spartan who uses cannabis. She is a U.S. Navy Veteran who has completed several Spartan Races. She’s even completed the famed Trifecta. Joining the... Read More

A Healthy Hemp Panel

April 21st, 2018

The Terpenes and Testing Magazine World Conference, described as “the most promising and comprehensive cannabis science expo in the United States,” was held April 11-12 in San Jose, CA. This two-day conference was a collection of the top cannabis science experts in the world. It is currently the largest gathering of cannabis science thought leaders on the planet and I feel honored to have been involved. Antonio and I both had the pleasure of participating as panelists on their Hemp Panel. We spoke about how hemp is part of our daily lives as a food source, a natural plant medicine, and how... Read More
