Create New Listings and Listing Categories: How you can update our business directories.

“Listing Categories” are the potential categories, a business potentially can be categorized under our site. To create a new “Listing Category”, go to the left side of our wordpress page, where the tool kits are. Go down to “DirectoryToolbox” and move your cursor over it. Go right and move your cursor to the newly popped up options, click “Categories”. This will take you to a new page, go down to the very bottom, where it says “Add Category”. Type in the new category’s name under “Category Title”. After you have typed in the category’s name, type in a random category’s code under “Category Code”, preferably some what related to the category’s name. Finally, leave the “Parent Category” empty and “Category Status” active for now, click on “Add Category” on the very bottom of the page, and we are done! Congratulations, you have created a “Listing Category”.

 

“Listings” are the businesses that will be showing up on our site’s directory, regardless if they are a sponsor or not. To create a new “Listing”, go to the left side of our wordpress page, where the tool kits are. Go down to “DirectoryToolbox” and move your cursor over it. Go right and move your cursor to the newly popped up options, click “Add Listing”. First find the category the business will be categorized under in “Search Category”, and type in the business’s name under “Title”. Then go down to “Keywords” and type in some keywords on what is this business is about. After you typed in the keywords, go to “Listing Package” and choose how advertised they will be on our site(pick “Basic” if they are not an advertiser with us). Finally, type in their “Business Hours”, “Contact Phone Number”, and “Address” on the very bottom of the page, and upload the business’s “Logo Image”. Click on “Add Listing” and congratulations, you have created a “Listing Category”.

With a passion to learn, Erwin obtained “Inbound Marketing” certificate from HubSpot Academy, as well as learned computer languages like R, HTML, Javascript on his own. During his off time, you can bet Erwin will be reading his favorite philosophy books like “The Works of Aristotle” at Alley Cat cafe or grabbing an ice cold beer with friends at the Mayor of Old Town in Fort Collins.
