Denver Metro: Give Back Today – PROJECT OUR TOWN
What started as a single event has grown into a powerful movement. The idea of PROJECT OUR TOWN began with one weekend of volunteerism, and the community’s incredible response turned it into a full-fledged organization dedicated to making a lasting difference.
Unlike many nonprofits that focus on a single issue, PROJECT OUR TOWN was built to be nimble and responsive. We don’t limit ourselves to one cause or population. Instead, we listen, learn, and act – pivoting to meet the most pressing needs in our community as they arise. This flexibility allows us to support a wide range of challenges, including food insecurity, housing instability, lack of access to hygiene products, and limited support for vulnerable populations such as seniors, veterans, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
Our model is rooted in collaboration and action. We believe that everyone has something to give, and we work to connect people who want to help with those who need it most. Whether it’s assembling care packages, mentoring youth, or supporting local shelters, our volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission. In a time when so many feel disconnected or overwhelmed by the challenges in the world, PROJECT OUR TOWN offers a tangible way to make a difference, right here, right now.
Now, every November, we come together for the Weekend of Action (WOA) for four unforgettable days of giving back, connection, and compassion. From helping families and children to caring for animals and supporting underserved communities, volunteers of all ages and passions come together to make BIG things happen.
This year, we are working to make our impact bigger and better! Our ambitious goals include:
- 100,000 servings of soup donated to local food pantries
- 15,000 personal care and food packages assembled for those in need
- 1,500 care packages sent to our military members and veterans
These goals are bold, but with your help, they’re absolutely achievable.
Get Involved:
There are many opportunities for you to get involved. If you are available, please volunteer your time by signing up for a shift or two to be part of the action. For the ambitious, lead a project and bring your passion and leadership to a cause you care about. Finally, rally your friends and family – volunteering is even more meaningful when shared.
We’re offering over 100 volunteer projects across a wide range of causes and locations, benefiting more than 50 local nonprofit organizations. With 1,300 volunteer shifts available, there’s truly something for everyone.
And don’t miss our Silent Auction!
The auction opens before the event and features incredible items and experiences from Avalanche tickets to themed bundles and local favorites. Every bid helps fund the meaningful work our volunteers make possible year-round. Learn more, sign up, or browse auction items at projectourtown.org/woa
For those who participate, the Weekend of Action is more than volunteering… it’s an energizing, heartwarming experience that fosters connection, purpose, and showcases community pride. The spirit is infectious, and the impact is lasting. Our efforts continue to grow year after year, and we would love for you to be a part of our WOA this year.
